When is the festival taking place?
The festival is taking place from the 16th to the 22nd of September

Where is the festival taking place?
Czech Mussel Week is organised in restaurants, bistros, canteens and pubs throughout the Czech Republic. Restaurants that are part of the Czech Mussel Week can be found on our website. Be aware that the offer of one free portion is not available in canteens.

When will the downloading of vouchers begin?
We will try to start the downloading of vouchers as soon as possible. We are aiming for the date one month before the festival begins, 19th August 2024. We recommend following our social media, where we will keep you informed – https://www.instagram.com/hopifishhub/

What vouchers are available and how do they work?

  • 1+1 free serving. Attention: 2 guests = 1 voucher! This means you’ll get 2 portions of mussels, pay for one, and get the cheaper one (if there’s a price difference) for free.
  • ATTENTION CHANGE: For every voucher downloaded earlier than 30 minutes before the booking, we collect a deposit of 100 CZK per voucher + 15 CZK administration fee. Do not worry about your hundred crowns! Amount collected in deposits will be automatically deducted from your total bill when you present your voucher(s) at the restaurant.
  • The administration fee is non-refundable and not part of the deposit.

Are you wondering why we’ve changed the rules and are asking for a deposit this year? This way, we can guarantee your spot in the restaurant and also allow you to make changes to your reservation or even cancel it, which wasn’t possible in the past. Thanks to this change, you’ll also have the opportunity to take advantage of various offers from festival partners, which we’ll be adding throughout the year.

  • Please note, the 1+1 free portion voucher cannot be downloaded or used in canteens. The offer is already reflected in the price of their meals.

What is the difference between the ‘1+1 free serving’ vouchers?
Voucher with a deposit guarantees you a booking in your chosen restaurant on the day and time you pick! It can be downloaded at any time, and in case of a reservation cancellation, the deposit is refundable. Changes or cancellations of a reservation with this voucher can only be made by 5:00 PM the day before. After that you can still contact the restaurant directly and make arrangements with them.

Voucher without a deposit is only available to download in the last half hour before booking or on the spot. However, because a lot of restaurants are very popular during the Czech Mussel Week, this voucher doesn’t guarantee that your restaurant will have free capacity on the day and time of your choice. A voucher with a deposit is worthwhile as it guarantees your day and time and can be changed or cancelled.

1. What vouchers are available and how do they work?
Voucher with a guaranteed reservation in your chosen restaurant

  • Can be downloaded anytime up to half an hour before booking.
  • Voucher booking details can be changed or cancelled up to 17:00 the day before booking.
  • If you cancel your reservation/voucher in time, your deposit will be refunded. The administration fee is non-refundable.
  • For changes or cancellations after 17:00 the day before, you must contact the restaurant directly.

Voucher at restaurant (maximum ½ hour before booking or at restaurant)

  • It can be withdrawn at the earliest half an hour before the reservation, but make sure first that  the restaurant has free capacity and enough mussels. WARNING: we do not guarantee here that there will be mussels left for you without the restaurant being free. It is necessary to check with the staff
  • When downloading a voucher last minute there is no deposit fee, but an administration fee of 15CZK.
  • The reservation details of this voucher cannot be changed or cancelled.


How to make a reservation / download a 1+1 voucher?
1. Choose a restaurant on our website. You can select and filter restaurants by location, category or menu.
2. Once you have chosen a restaurant, click on the ‚download voucher‘ button and fill in a short form with all the details. The details you will be filling in – number of people in the reservation, number of portions of mussels, date and time of reservation as well as name, email, phone number. The first time you download, you will need to fill in your contact details in addition to your booking details to register. Registration is required for possible later changes or cancellations. You can then just log in. To download vouchers for other restaurants, click on the ‚download voucher‘ button again and fill in the booking form, do not fill in the details again but log in to your account to keep all your bookings together. The details you will be filling in are: the number of people on the booking, the number of portions of mussels, the date and time of the booking, as well as name, email, phone number.

For example, on Thursday 2.8. you want a reservation for 6 people for 14:30. 4 of them will want mussels and 2 will want food from the restaurant’s regular menu.

3. Once completed, check the order summary and pay the deposit + administration fee via the payment gateway. (1 voucher (2 persons/2 portions) = 100 CZK; 2 vouchers (4 persons/4 portions) = 200 CZK etc. In case of cancellation before 17:00 the day before the reservation, the deposit is refundable. An administration fee of 15 CZK is non-refundable.

4. After payment, you will receive a confirmation of your successful booking and you can download your vouchers. The vouchers will also be sent to the email address you have filled in and you can also check them by logging in on our website – top right panel.

Why is the number of people and the number of portions of mussels filled in on the booking form?
This is in case there are more of you going to the restaurant, you all want to sit together, but you don’t all want to order mussels. The restaurant needs to know not only how many portions of mussels there will be, but also at what size table it needs to seat you.

What if I want both portions for myself?
It’s not a problem. Since you specify both the number of people in the reservation and the number of portions of mussels when filling out the reservation form, the restaurant will have all the information it needs. Alternatively, you can still add it in the notes on the form.

Is my deposit refundable?

    • If you cancel your reservation before 17:00 on the day before your reservation, the deposit will be refunded in full. The administration fee is non-refundable.
    • If you don’t manage to cancel by 17:00 on the day before your reservation, all is not lost. Contact the restaurant directly and if they have availability at another time, they can reschedule your reservation.
    • If you do not arrive at the restaurant on the day and time of the reservation, the deposit will be forfeited to the restaurant and will not be returned.

Why do I have to register when downloading a voucher?
Registration is necessary, so that you can later make changes or cancel your reservation. It is then enough to log in on our website. At the same time, together with our festival partners, we are preparing other benefits for you.

Can I filter the selection of restaurants?
Yes, you can filter by location, establishment category, and even menu/meal price.

Does downloading a voucher mean an automatic booking?
Yes. Payment of the deposit guarantees your reservation. For you, this means that you don’t have to call or write, everything is done when you buy the voucher, see instructions above.

Co se stane, když se mi změnili plány?
Of course, anything can happen. Since you registered when you bought the voucher, just log in on our website (top right panel) and here you can change or cancel your reservation, but no later than 5:00 pm the day before the reservation. If you cannot meet this deadline, please contact the restaurant directly.

Why didn’t I receive a voucher?
If you entered the correct email address and did not receive the voucher email, please check your Spam or other folders in your inbox.
If you still have a problem, contact us at https://czechmusselweek.cz/kontakty/ and we will check it for you. The most common reason for this is that you have entered your email address incorrectly.

Is punctuality necessary and what happens if I am late?
Yes, it is. Please be punctual :). Your place will only be guaranteed for 15 minutes from your booking. If the restaurant has other guests, your table may be taken after 15 minutes and your deposit will be forfeited. The phone number of the restaurant is displayed on your voucher. In the event of a major delay, please call – do not email. The restaurant is dedicated to guests and often does not monitor emails during the day!

Do I have to present my voucher at the restaurant, pub or bistro?
Yes. You must have your voucher with you (electronically is fine) to receive the ‚1+ 1 free‘ offer. Your voucher contains a unique QR code that must be scanned by an employee at the business in order to be redeemed. It also confirms that you have paid a deposit, which will then be deducted from your total bill. This is not possible without a voucher!

Frequently asked questions and answers about Czech mussel week and free 1+1 vouchers

1. Why should I suddenly pay 100 CZK for a 1+1 voucher for free?
A. This way we can guarantee your place in the restaurant, while allowing you to make changes to your reservation or even cancellations, which was not possible in the past. With this change, you will also be able to take advantage of various offers from festival partners, which we will gradually add throughout the year.

2. Will my 100 CZK be deducted when I eat?
A. You don’t have to worry about your hundred crown(s)! The amount collected in deposits will be automatically deducted from your total bill when you present your voucher(s) at the restaurant.

3. Why did the restaurant deduct only 100 CZK, even though I paid 115 CZK?
A. 15 CZK is an administrative fee that the organiser collects for each payment made. This fee is non-refundable.

4. How did you help customers when you made this change to the 1+1 free voucher?
A. A voucher with a deposit guarantees that the restaurant will have the necessary amount of mussels ready for you. At the restaurant of your choice on the day and time you want! It can be downloaded at any time and the deposit is refundable if you cancel your reservation. Changes or cancellations with this voucher can only be made up to 5pm the day before. After that it is however still possible to contact the restaurant and make arrangements directly with them.

5. Does the voucher arrive in my email or is it only available online?
A. Once you have completed your booking, the vouchers will be displayed on your monitor for immediate download and you will also receive them in an automated email to the email address you have entered. Purchasing a voucher has resulted in your registration, which is required to make changes or cancel your booking at a later date. It is then just a matter of logging in.

6. Can a reservation be made for multiple people even if only one 1+1 free voucher is purchased?
A. Yes, when buying a voucher you fill in the details, number of people in the reservation, number of portions of mussels, date and time of reservation, name, email, phone number.
For example, on Thursday, August 2, you want a reservation for six people for 2:30 pm. Four of them will want mussels and two will order food from the restaurant’s regular menu.

7. Why do I have to fill in the number of portions of mussels and the number of people in the reservation when I make a reservation? What is the difference?
A. This is in case you want to come with friends/family/kids and not everyone wants to eat mussels, this way you make enough for everyone at once while ensuring the right number of mussels.

8. Can I win something if I attend the event?
A. Follow our social networks HOPIFISHHUB and listen to Hit radio, where we are preparing several prize competitions for you.

9. What happens if I don’t show up at the restaurant and my deposit is forfeited?
A. Yes, your deposit will be forfeited. Of course, anything can happen. Since you registered when you bought the voucher, just log in to our website (the little person icon on the top right) and then to the reservation management where you can change or cancel your reservation, but no later than 17:00 the day before your reservation. If you cannot meet this deadline, please contact the restaurant directly.

10. If there are different mussel prices, do I always pay the same amount?
A. You pay the more expensive price for the mussels, you get the cheaper ones for free. If you have paid a deposit, this will be deducted from your total payment.

11. Can I have the voucher on my phone or does it have to be printed out?
A. Both options are acceptable.

12. Can I buy multiple vouchers at the same time, even for other restaurants?
A. No.

13. Can I change my reservation in the reservation system and move it to another restaurant?
A. Reservations can be changed at the restaurant and rescheduled for another day, up to a maximum of 5:00 pm the day before the reservation. You cannot move to another restaurant, but you can cancel your 1+1 voucher for free and your money will be refunded. You can then purchase a free 1+1 voucher for another restaurant.

14. Can I change or cancel my reservation on the website and get a refund?
A. Yes, it is possible to change reservations on the website and reschedule to another day, but no later than 17:00 the day before the original reservation. Cancellation of the voucher is also
possible. Just log in to your registration and modify the voucher to suit your needs.

15. I paid 1+1 voucher and nothing arrived. What should I do?
A. If you entered the correct email address and did not receive the voucher email, please check your Spam or other folders in your inbox. If the problem persists, please contact us at

16. I didn’t like the food, where can I complain?

17. Why do you need to fill in my details?
A. Your data is needed for the restaurant and also for registration, which allows you to make changes later, or cancel your reservation.
